🧭 Navigating Turbulent Waters: Life Updates

Recent times have been challenging as I confront difficult personalities and situations that compromise my sense of safety. It's like living in a pressure cooker, but I'm actively seeking balance.

Key themes in my life:

  • Retrospective analysis for future improvement
  • Enhanced future planning
  • Establishing and maintaining boundaries
  • Embracing the power of 'no'
  • Forging an independent professional path

After a prolonged job search in infosec, I've mapped out a plan. My current income is under $600/month, but I'm targeting $1-1.5k within the next quarter. It's a challenge, especially with my part-time caregiver responsibilities, but I'm determined.
On a positive note, I aimed for 15-20k steps twice weekly but did this 9x int he past 2 weeksπŸ₯‡. These small victories are significant.

πŸ’‘ Strategic Planning: Decade in Review and 3-Month Sprint

While developing my "Next Decade Plan," I realized a crucial oversight: the importance of reflecting on the past decade before projecting into the future. Consequently, I'm now engaged in a Decade in Review, which will inform my future planning.

Given my current circumstances, I'm finalizing a 3-month plan by July 1st. Addressing my immediate situation is paramount for my mental well-being and financial stability.

I've identified 13 potential income streams and plan to pursue the top 3-5 simultaneously. This approach necessitates an intense 60-80 hour work week, but it's a necessary step forward.

🌱Personal Growth and Coping Mechanisms

In challenging times, I've returned to a childhood coping mechanism: museum visits. The Natural History Museum, particularly its space section, provides a mental reset. This practice has been a constant source of solace throughout my life in New York City.

Another significant aspect of my journey has been unlearning dysfunctional behaviors. Distancing myself from my childhood environment has highlighted the necessity of this process, aligning with my passion for psychology and personal development.

✍🏾 Recent Intellectual Pursuits

My recent research has focused intensively on mental health, friendships, and empathy. This exploration serves both to enhance my understanding of others and to maintain my psychological equilibrium. In 13 days, I've produced 18 notes and atomic essays. Here are some pieces I'd like to share:

✨ Current Inspirations

I've scaled back on consuming too much content, but these podcasts consistently inspire my writing and business ideas:

  • Greg Isenberg's Startup Idea Podcast: Offers practical ways to make money now and in the near future, helping me reach my $1k-$1.5k goal.
  • Simon Sinek: Known for his work and leadership advice, he now appeals to both leaders and the general public with a strong emphasis on empathy.
  • Andrew Bustamante: His Everyday Spy videos share some of the most intelligent takes on modern psychology and human behavior I've encountered.

These folks provide motivation and inspiration, aligning closely with my views on psychology, people, and business.

🧱Makers Corner

I've been spending too much time on educational videos for my overall research. They're valuable but time-consuming. My solution? Using AI to summarize video transcripts. Instead of watching hour-long videos, I send the transcripts to an AI for key takeaways and actionable items.

In just 3 hours this morning, I built a Youtube Video Summarizer app using Laravel, Tailwind, and Claude API! ⚑️

This method saves me a ton of time and allows me to quickly capture essential points for my journal. Some folks love this idea, and I think I launch and start getting paid for it as soon as this week.πŸ’Έ
